Overview

Do you know that by 2045, cities will be home to 6 billion inhabitants. To accommodate them, large cities, businesses, and even startups are banking on the smart city. In this field, there are many technological breakthroughs and innovations under way or to come. In this course, you will learn how to change to smart cities, smart cities technologies, the latest technologies and the infrastructure for smart cities.

Course Objective

By the end of this course participant will be able to:

  • examine what smart cities are by exploring the contrasting visions of how they will transform our urban environments and lives.
  • Understand different approaches cities are taking from city led roadmaps, to business smart technology services, to solutions co-designed with citizens .
  • Examines the role that technology, data and urban analytics can play in transforming cities.
  • considers challenges that may face the transformation to smart cities and their sustainability.
  • Explores the connections between urban innovation, enterprise and future smart city business models and studying the finance investment in smart cities.
  • Considers the importance of city leadership and governance in developing smart cities and the role of different stakeholders.
